Schools comb social media for potential threats

The Brockton Public Schools have been using the services of Social Sentinel, a Vermont-based company that makes social media monitoring software for schools, to cast a virtual net designed to detect social media postings that could contain portents of a threat to the safety of students and staff around each of the buildings.
